Essendon House, located on Cooper Street, is a remarkable renovation that transforms a traditional weatherboard dwelling into a refined modern sanctuary. The design brief called for a thoughtful balance between old and new celebrating the home’s original character while introducing contemporary elements that enhance liveability, comfort, and connection.
The renovation focuses on creating open, light-filled spaces with strong indoor–outdoor flow. A central feature of the design is the alfresco zone, which ingeniously divides the home into two distinct wings. This outdoor sanctuary becomes the heart of the layout, encouraging daily interaction with the natural environment and providing a tranquil retreat that feels seamlessly integrated with the interior spaces.
